Principal
As a seasoned senior-level insurance, reinsurance, regulatory, and run-off practitioner with over 40 years experience, Rick possesses a demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams of professionals to new levels of success. Rick’s credentials, as a subject matter expert, have been accepted in both state and federal legal jurisdictions. His reputation for trustworthiness is displayed by the confidence reposed in him by the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, where he has served as a hearing officer and adjudicated the most serious cases of attorney malfeasance. Rick has demonstrated an understanding and command of claims, reinsurance, regulatory and run-off issues of the highest complexity. His achievements in the handling of claims, claims management, staff training and accountability, regulatory compliance, drafting expert reports, and testifying, have been on-going and account for his rapid advancement and successful career.
Dan Weber
Insurance Regulatory Attorney and Case Mapping Specialist
With a focus on data privacy and information security, Dan combines a deep understanding of regulatory structures and emerging technology to map out complex litigation productions, and problems for attorneys and innovators in the insurance space, from entrepreneurs with bold ideas to litigators handling complex insurance matters. Dan’s background enables him to act as a translator between legal, business, and information technology departments, as well as providing a technological edge to testifying experts, dealing with extensive production reviews.
Jin Kong
Insurance Regulatory Attorney
A licensed attorney in Ohio since 2013, Jin serves full-time as a General Schedule (GS) attorney advisor to the federal government. He also maintains a small private legal practice focusing on international business planning and the cultural contours of emerging markets, data privacy and security issues, equity-based investments, non-profits, and globalization. He has an extensive medical background and operational experience with due diligence, investigative reporting, and claims analysis.
Kathryn Marsan
Information Technology Manager and Claims Specialist
Kathryn is responsible for conducting investigations to compile comprehensive reports including extracting financial data from Loss Run Reports and building informational packages based on extensive research using Lexis Nexis and other tools. Kathryn has focused on claims examinations for professional liability, nursing homes, environmental, and homeowner books of business. She also serves as the team’s IT manager. Kathryn started her career as a full-time student at the University of Cincinnati, graduating from the College of Applied Science with a 4.9 GPA and graduating Magna Cum Laude.
Karen Stobart
Paralegal and Technical Analyst
Karen came to Glynloen from a prominent regional law firm, where she provided support for numerous aspects of various practice groups. At GIC, Karen primarily focuses on using custom data management tools, which she designs and creates, to provide the team with the ability to implement and automate complex data analysis methodologies on claim populations being evaluated. This allows Karen and the team to provide GIC clients with a more detailed and comprehensive view of how individual claims are situated in the large data set, as well as providing additional valuable insights.
