GIC is helping with the preparation of a proof of loss and reporting the insurer to the regulating department of insurance. Assistance with documentation to support the loss is also being organized and prepared. GIC is also providing strategic advice on mediation preparation and positioning.
GIC is currently in the process of performing analysis of the coverage afforded to enrollees in the owners contractors insurance program (OCIP). GIC will interface between the condominium board and litigating counsel to track billing, budgeting, and manage the overall litigation progress.
In preparation for pending litigation, the record in a contentious insurance-related dispute has been uploaded into the case management system used by GIC and analysis is underway which will support the opinions and conclusions of future reports and/or testimony to be offered by Mr. Bingham.
GIC will assist the CIA team help their policyholders with difficult claim issues. Commercial Insurance Associates is a Top 100 property and casualty insurance broker as well as experts in risk management. CIA has over $300 million and counting in premium volume written. GIC has received a number of assignments and has provided expert advice on a wide range of coverages and regulatory topics.
GIC’s client has filed suit to recover claim payments which a PEO is refusing to reimburse alleging overpayment by the insurer. The review is structured to respond on a case by case basis and to provide evidence and support for the disputed sums. GIC is working with the insurer’s claim system and has been provided on-line, read only access to the complete file.
GIC is reviewing the claim files and either negotiating them to conclusion or pursuing hearings with the special referee. GIC is providing additional support with reserving and by sending and tracking claimant notices of determination. The assignment also includes answering and resolving claimant objections.
In four weeks and while engaged in other major assignments, GIC reviewed the discovery record and report of the opposing expert. GIC authored a 67-page report with 187 citations. The case settled at mediation to the satisfaction of client and their counsel.
